Jim Bailey

Lead Vocal & Guitar

General

Jim started playing guitar at age 15, graduated to electric guitar at 21 when he joined a local blues band and jammed around with local musicians until the age of 23.

His influences include; Jimi Hendrix , Jimmy Page and Rory Gallagher.

He has been writing weird songs since he was 16, which lead him to form "The Truffles", a Stalybridge based band playing original songs.

Following the split of the Truffles Jim joined "The Mushroom Men", a well established local cult band, after standing-in for the bass player (Jim Doesn’t play bass !) at 4 hours notice.

Jim stayed in the Mushroom men for 7 years until they split due to the singer attaining fame and fortune by winning “Stars In Their Eyes” (poor bastard!!).

Following the split of the Mushroom Men, Jim went solo, performing in pubs and clubs all around Manchester , Ibiza , and France where he started to develop his unique vocal delivery and style. At the same time, Jim played with several local bands, including “A Band Called Eric” and “The Rubies”.

Following the theft of all his gear, Jim was fairly despondent until a phone call from Mike Humphreys was received, and it wasn’t long after that Jim took on the role of singer with Mr Bones.
